Crohn’s Disease, Sarcoidosis, Hip Surgery and whatever else I have!

Catchin’ Hell

Posted in Crohn's Colitis, Life in General, Misc Medical Crap, Tech Head by Maxi on the October 3rd, 2008

Ok Ok Ok, I hear y’all! Some of you have been getting on me about not posting in quite a while. Sorry ’bout that. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K ( Maxi speak for things have been kooky ’round here,…and yes my blog may be the only blog online openly quoting the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure ) You see I’ve had a fair amount of tests done, saw a lung specialist and then a cardio guy and someone sent me this R2D2 looking Oxygen machine and two external tanks, for as the delivery guy said,…. just in case I needed it. Hell I didn’t know I needed R2D2 in the first place. We are trying to track down which doctor ordered that. The good thing is it didn’t cost anything, the bad thing is I don’t know why I need it. Seriously.

I would assume the lung doc didn’t like what he heard or saw on my tests. I already sleep with a CPAP machine which is god awful sexy and now, I get to hook up Oxygen to that. It’s a damn good thing I’m married, I’ll tell you that much. If your wives or girlfriends saw me all tangled up in that infernal contraption well I couldn’t be responsible for anything after that.

In addition to all that happiness and joy, my cholesterol ( both good and bad ) are worlds away from whatever the hell their good numbers should be. Which is craptacular as Sarcoidosis already gums up the works, gumming up lungs and yes, arteries. I can’t win for loosing here people.

Now ya see why I haven’t posted in sometime. I didn’t want to post a colossal bitch fest. Well that’s what it is now. Oh and don’t get me started how the Crohn’s haunts me every morning ( usually around 4:30am - 7:30am for some reason ) when the pain in my lower back and guts are so bad I am literally paralyzed. I wish that was me being a sappy drama queen, but I’m not and it sucks.

Alright, enough of the miserable crap. How about some good news. I reconnected with my cousin Deb after around 20 some-odd years. It’s great to reconnect and share stories about my dad who passed away back in 1988. She sent out some REALLY cool pictures of my dad, I have very few and a bunch of pictures of my grand-mom, I had NONE of her, so that was a pick me up BIGTIME. Also, Shels came home about 2 mos ago with “Vinny”! Yes, the flock o’ pugs is growing. He had a rough start in life, and almost died - Puppy Mill operators need to die horrible and painful deaths, all of them. Anyway, Vinny is my latest therapy dog and he does a GREAT job.

Well that’s about all I have. I was hoping I could post some good news about my health, but no luck this time around. I still have a stress test to do and get to therapy. I haven’t be able to do either as now I get sick as hell about 5 miles down the road for some reason. No ones be able to figure that latest li’l sweetheart out and so, here I stay. I’m in a good place with my puppies, my house and my computer along with my swell wife. I’m just not in a good place health wise. But who’s complaining?

Ohhhhhh wait - I just did.  ;-)   Oh hell, almost forgot. This blog was the site of the day back in Sept. I didn’t know until I was bored and out googling myself. http://blogofthedayawards.blogspot.com/2008/09/maxs-health.html

Have a swell day.
